When it comes to defining the “best” workplaces, what criteria would you include? Family-friendly policies? Tuition reimbursement? Generous vacation time? The ability to work remotely?

While these are some tangible (and truly awesome) perks, the country’s best workplaces have another quality in common that’s harder to quantify — an employee-centric company culture. As one of the recipients of The Business Intelligence Group’s Best Places to Work, we are passionate about creating such a culture.

Today, The Business Intelligence Group announced that it has awarded Very as one of the country’s Best Places to Work. The organization sought to identify companies that are actively working to improve their own performance through efforts to challenge employees in environments that make work fun and engaging.

“Congratulations to Very for building an organization focused on employee engagement and performance,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer of Business Intelligence Group. “It was clear from analyzing the employee survey data that this is a great place to work and employee feedback is not only listened to but acted upon. Congratulations to the entire team.”

With unemployment rates at historic lows, investing in employee experience is a crucial piece of retention, something Brittany Metzler, director of HR at Very, is thrilled to see reflected in the survey results.

“I’m moved that our own employees acknowledge Very as an organization that understands the importance of investing in people across a wide range of factors, from healthcare and parental leave to career growth and professional development,” Metzler said.
