Luke leads Very’s team of senior engineers, designers, and data scientists in the strategic development of products that solve critical challenges in the IoT space and beyond.
As CPO at Very, Luke uses more than 20 years of experience in product leadership, hardware engineering, and product design to grow Very's product catalog.
Before joining Very, Luke was the Director of Hardware Engineering at Uber Elevate and a Senior Manager of Product Design at Apple. Prior to those roles, he also led product engineering efforts at Cobasys, A123 Systems, Green Charge Networks, and QuantumScape.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park
At Uber, Luke directed conceptual vehicle design, CAE, battery system design, cell technology and battery safety for Uber Elevate, which led to a 2020 acquisition of Uber Elevate by Joby Aviation. While at Cobasys, he developed a next-generation battery module, built a green-field plant in Ohio to manufacture it, and certified it for production for GM. At A123 Systems, he developed battery systems for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and his handiwork can be found on just about any early GM or BMW hybrid vehicle or commuter bus.
When he isn't laser-focused on product development strategy, Luke enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and learning new skills like skiing or scuba diving.
