David Powsner

David is an intellectual property attorney, advising high-tech companies on a range of complex matters. His physics degree from MIT and experience in computer programming, combined with his legal experience, enables him to understand, analyze and provide practical guidance on patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark, licensing and litigation matters. Dave represents companies with products in a variety of tech markets, from medical devices to computer software to networking to consumer electronics.

David is actively involved in the startup community, volunteering time and using his work experience to coach new businesses. Through his membership in the MIT Enterprise Forum and local angel investment groups, he has coached hundreds of startup companies as they prepare for early stages of growth, including through fund-raising and intellectual property acquisition and protection. He was also a principal organizer of the MIT Enterprise Forum’s Software Entrepreneurship SIG, which he co-founded a decade ago, and is now active in running educational programs that bring together the angel investment and startup communities.

 

Baz Khuti

A technology and business visionary, Baz has held executive leadership positions at GE (CTO Cloud), Emerson Electric (EVP, Emerson Network Power; Chief Architect, Emerson Electric) and Invensys, now part of Schneider (Chief Architect). Baz has brought to market leading software products from idea to industry standard, with six industrial software patents and winning a number of prestigious industry awards.

With over 30 years of technology experience across the UK, US and Asia Baz has a proven track-record of developing software platforms and industrial applications at scale through the architecture and design of pioneering technologies. Baz holds a MSc in computer science.

John Carrier

Senior Lecturer of System Dynamics, MIT Sloan School of Management

Carrier instructs senior managers on improving manufacturing and business processes and serves as an on-site coach in support of projects. His research focuses on strategic marketing and new business development in high technology, specialty chemicals, and service segments. Carrier has more than 15 years of experience in a variety of corporate, entrepreneurial, and consulting environments. Since 2006, he has worked with Arsenal Capital Partners as director of Six Sigma, where he is responsible for increasing portfolio company valuation by adapting and applying Six Sigma techniques to midsize companies. Carrier also handles due diligence, post-merger integrations, and financial analysis and improvement. Prior to joining Arsenal Capital Partners, he was employed by Grace Construction Products; Bain & Company, Inc.; and SuperCool LLC. 

Carrier holds a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, a PhD in chemical engineering from MIT, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
