In his pre-Very life, Ben served as the executive director at Ashoka Changemakers, a global team that works with social entrepreneurs. There, he spearheaded and developed a suite of software products, helping global social entrepreneurs connect with resources. Later, in 2009, he co-founded LookSharp, a San Francisco-based platform that connects students to internships and has raised $10.63 million, which was acquired by WayUp. Ben was also on the founding team of ReadyCart, a Very Venture, which was recently acquired by Grapevine Logic. Ben pursued a formal education in entrepreneurship at Babson College, but he dropped out after two years, deciding that the best way to learn about entrepreneurship was to become an entrepreneur. His first endeavor — an online education software company — secured more than $5 million in seed capital, was acquired by eCampus, and resulted in Ben being named as one of Businessweek's Top 25 Young Entrepreneurs.
